Seeing

Posted on March 7, 2012 at 3:44 AM Comments comments (0)
In putting together my new Energy You workshop I realise more and more how important understanding ourselves as beings of energy being is to our health and well-being. To simply apporach ourselves as physical beings, and only intervene at this level, is like trying to solve a computer problem by constantly taking the hard drive apart and never once giving any consideration to what's happening in the software.

If we really want to understand ourselves as human beings, and the world in which we live, we cannot seperate the energetic from the physical. The division is an arbitrary illusion created by us because we feel more comfortable with what we can see with our eyes (even if it means using powefrful micrscopes and telescopes).

But we can only see around 0.4% of the matter that actually reflects light - never mind the matter that doesn't. Perhaps it is time to stop insisting that we have to see it in order to believe that it's real.

When you use every cell in your body to 'see' instead of just your eyes the world is a very different much greater place. The persepctive changes and understanding is an experiential thing felt in every cell, every atom of your being. It is much easier to percieve the path to healthy balance from this persepctive because your software has been engaged.

Cramping Muscles

If you have a cramping muscle instead of massaging it try feathering it very lightly over the surface.

Just one of the great tools you learn in Touch For Health.

Moods and the Weather

Posted on February 28, 2012 at 4:01 AM Comments comments (0)
Have you noticed how moods are like the weather - one day we can be all sunny and happy, the next we can be leaden and gloomy? But are we our moods? Is this planet its weather?

I love the way that how we sometimes respond to the weather shows us how we are with our own moods. Take a day like today. It's overcast here, rather grey and gloomy. It's so easy to only experience the clouds. I have a friend who hates the winter and days like this. All she sees are the clouds and they make her life miserable for around 4 months of the year.

But up there beyond the clouds the sun still shines. Beyond our more gloomy moods our soul and joy still shine. I find that even on a gloomy day if I remember that and connect with the sun above the clouds my own internal clouds dissolve away.

Weather is just weather, it passes. Moods are just moods, they pass. We can help them along if we want to. What we focus on becomes our reality.

The Best Internal Workout There Is

Posted on February 25, 2012 at 4:50 AM Comments comments (2)
The best internal workout you can give yourself is good breathing.

In through the nose expanding and filling the belly, then the chest right up to the shoulders. Then breathing out and reversing the process emptying the belly last.

When you do this you fill your whole lungs and you expand your diaphragm properly. You can feel it working all the muscles of your torso from inside - all those core muscles get stretched and worked. When the diaphragm is worked properly like this is massages all the internal organs and helps to pump your lymph which is important for fighting infection.

You will also notice that your sacrum, spinal column and head move with the breath in an 'S' shape helping to pump your cerebrospinal fluid and keeping your back flexible.

Good breathing will also help you to release stuck energy, particularly emotional stress which tends to collect around the diaphragm and belly.

Take a few minutes a few times a day and focus on your breathing. The more you do this the more natural good breathing becomes and the less stressed you will feel.

Mind Your Language

Posted on February 23, 2012 at 9:10 AM Comments comments (0)
Language has a profound effect on our bodies, right down to the level of our DNA. The words we use can encourage our energy to flow and boost our confidence or they can do the opposite.

For example how often do you use the word try? Have you ever actually succeeded in something you've 'tried' to do? As Yoda so eloquently puts it, 'Do or not do, there is no try.'

The body does not understand 'try' because it can only do or not do.

Tell yourself that you are trying to do something and observe how that feels in your body. It feels really hard work to me and my confidence dips. Now tell yourself you are aiming to do the same thing or having a go at it and notice how your energy and body feelings change accordingly.

We feel bad when others put us down. It's no different when we put ourselves down, we respond in exactly the same way. We may not be able to change the way others talk about us but we certainly can when we talk to ourselves about ourselves. Notice how your energy is when you put yourself down and how it changes when you compliment yourself.

Mind your language.

Air and Water

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 5:00 AM Comments comments (0)
Our two best health maintenance tools are absolutely free. Without them we won't live long and yet we take them for granted and even forget about them.

Good breathing and drinking water.

When we breathe properly our whole body is involved. As the lungs expand fully our internal organs are massaged and we experience an inner stretch which exercises our muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Our spine also gets a good stretch and the rhythm of breathing in and out helps pump our cerebral spinal fluid and lymph.

A good breathe begins in the belly, moves up to the chest and the shoulders as we breathe in and then the process is reversed as we breathe out. Try it. Notice how it gives you a good stretch and how energising it is.

Not putting water into your body is like not putting oil in your car. The body prioritises where it sends water and the internal organs get it first. The brain, which is very water dependent to work well, is not at the top of the list, neither are your muscles. So, if you are not drinking enough your ability to think clearly and to feel energised will be impaired and you are more likely to have aches and pains in your muscles.

So, 2 key tips for good health - work on good breathing and drink plenty of water.

A Path of the Heart

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 4:30 AM Comments comments (0)
You are born with everything that you need to bring forth the gifts that you are here to share. Within your heart are the codes of creation, the memory of all that has been and all that will be. No matter where you’ve been and what has happened in your life, this memory remains unaffected and is always accessible.

From an energy medicine perspective, the subtle memories, or imprints of the unfinished business of your life, your ancestry and the collective story, live in your cellular body and human energy field. These imprints act like filters that distort your perceptions of the world and keep you from recognizing the eternal wisdom of the heart. It is time to release the way these imprints inform you and illuminate your heart. Within this wisdom is the vision of the world in which your children’s children will live. You have chosen to come down at this incredible time in the evolution of humanity to be part of a great shift. Within you is an integral piece that is a key to unlocking a golden era of peace that has been prophesized for millennia.

From a scientific perspective the heart’s electromagnetic field is 5000x stronger than any other organ in the body. When you express from your heart you send a powerful vibration into the universe. The laws of physics tell us that like attracts like, this means that the world around you will organize to match this frequency and bring this vibration into being.

One of the tenets of the shamanic path is Love, known as Munay. Munay is the deepest love there is, similar to the love of a mother for her child. Everything we do, we do from this place of love and understanding of the interconnectedness of ourselves with all existence.
In the west, we often barter love, we say that our love is unconditional – as long as… fill in your own love to-do list.  Munay is love in service to the vision of all creation.

When you live in munay, you live in harmony with the earth and the cosmos. When you attune with this vibration the universe conspires on your behalf and you are guided in every moment. Just as the hummingbird travels 5000 miles each year without worry as to how it will make it’s epic journey, you will be guided to your highest destiny.

As the world around you changes, find the courage to look inside your heart and uncover the gifts that are yours to share. Break free of fear, break free of what you think is right, forgive yourself and others, have compassion and patience for yourself and every living being. Most importantly, love and honor all that you are, have been and will be! Sit in the stillness of your heart, and see the reflection of Creation’s story. Be the clear lake that reflects everything within and without and sing your song of life...

May You Walk in Beauty and Balance at This Time of Great Change.

Declare peace on yourself

Posted on February 15, 2012 at 4:28 AM Comments comments (0)
The problem is not that we have negative beliefs about ourselves, things wrong with us or events in our personal history that we don't like, it is the fact that we fight them.

The quickest way to transform those parts of ourselves and our histories that we judge unhelpful is to be at peace with them and accept the gifts they bring us.

If a caterpillar fights the idea and process of becoming a pupa then it can never become a beautiful butterfly.

The fear is that if we stop fighting and accept them that we have given in. It is perfectly possible to accept unpleasant cricusmtances and still hold a vision for where we want to be be. When we do this the energy that went into fighting the old circumstance is freed to focus on the vision and where our energy goes we go. Everything in the Universe begins to line up behind the vision in order to bring it into being.
